• According to Jimmy Page (Guitar Player Magazine 1977) 'I had [the riff] worked out already before entering the studio. I had rehearsed it. And then all of that other stuff, sonic wave sound and all that, I built it up in the studio, and put effects on it and things, treatments.'

• The single was released in November of 1969, certified gold by the RIAA, and peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It also topped the Australian and German Singles charts.
