Linkin Park - Numb Lyrics

Linkin Park Lyrics

Numb Lyrics
Jump to:
I'm tired of being what you want me to be
Feeling so faithless lost under the surface
Don't know what you're expecting of me
Put under the pressure of walking in your shoes
(Caught in the undertow just caught in the undertow)
Every step that I take is another mistake to you
(Caught in the undertow just caught in the undertow)

[Chorus]
I've become so numb I can't feel you there
Become so tired so much more aware
I'm becoming this all I want to do
Is be more like me and be less like you

Can't you see that you're smothering me
Holding too tightly afraid to lose control
Cause everything that you thought I would be
Has fallen apart right in front of you
(Caught in the undertow just caught in the undertow)
Every step that I take is another mistake to you
(Caught in the undertow just caught in the undertow)
And every second I waste is more than I can take

[Chorus]
I've become so numb I can't feel you there
Become so tired so much more aware
I'm becoming this all I want to do
Is be more like me and be less like you

And I know
I may end up failing too
But I know
You were just like me with someone disappointed in you

[Chorus]
I've become so numb I can't feel you there
Become so tired so much more aware
I'm becoming this all I want to do
Is be more like me and be less like you

[Chorus]
I've become so numb I can't feel you there
I'm tired of being what you want me to be
I've become so numb I can't feel you there
I'm tired of being what you want me to be

Numb Info:

• According to Mike Shinoda (ShoutWeb) 'I think it was a nice way to end the album because it kind of sums up the record. It's very recognizable as our sound. It sounds like a Linkin Park song but it does have some mood that Meteora has if that makes any sense.'

• The music video was directed by Joesph Hahn and was filmed in part at a church in Los Angeles (indoor scenes) and in Prague, Czech Republic (outdoor scenes). The young girl with social problems in the video is actress 'Briana Evigan'.

• Chester Bennington, Mike Shinoda, Rob Bourdon, Brad Delson, Darren Farrell, & Joseph Hahn share writing credits on the song. Don Gilmore produced the track for the album 'Meteora'

• The single was released on October 14th, 2003, certified gold by the RIAA, and topped the Billboard Modern Rock Track chart for 12 weeks (November 22nd, 2003 to February 7th, 2004). It also peaked at #11 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

• The song was later combined into a platinum certified hit with the Jay-Z song 'Encore' (Numb/Encore) on the album 'Collison Course'.
