    Natalie Cole, daughter of Nat King Cole, passed away at the age of 65.
    (In Memoriam: February 6th, 1950 – December 31st, 2015 )

    Ian Fraser "Lemmy" Kilmister of Motorhead passed away at the age of 70, following a short battle with an extremely aggressive cancer.
    (In Memoriam: December 24th, 1945 - December 28th, 2015)

    Radiohead released the song they made for the latest James Bond movie "Spectre", also called Spectre. (The studio went with Sam Smith's Writings on The Wall instead)

    Billy Corgan (of Smashing Pumpkins) is a father for the first time at age 48. Congratulations to him and his longtime girlfriend Chloe Mendel on the birth of their son, Augustus Juppiter.

    N.W.A, Cheap Trick, Chicago, Deep Purple, and Steve Miller have been announced as the 2016 inductees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The official induction will take place April 8th, 2016 at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.

    LL Cool J will host the 2016 Grammys, his fifth year in a row. The Grammys are February 15th.

    Paramore's bassist Jeremy Davis, and one of the founding members, announced he's leaving the band. Hayley Williams is now the only remaining founding member.

    The season 9 winner of The Voice was announced.

    Adele's 25 broke another record, becoming the ONLY album to sell over a million units in it's second week too. (It previously broke the record for most records sold in week).

    Kanye West and Kim Kardashian's baby boy is born. His name is Saint West.

    Former Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland passed away at the age of 48. He suffered a heart attack in his sleep in his tour bus in Bloomington, Minnesota

    Coldplay will headline the Super Bowl halftime show. Super Bowl 50 will take place February 7th, 2016.

    Drake was the most streamed artist of 2015 with 1.8 billion streams. Rihanna was the most streamed female artist with over 1 billion. However both Taylor Swift and Adele weren't in the running as they did not allow their songs to be streamed.

    Adele's 25 breaks the record for best sales in a week with 3.38 million units sold. The previous record was held by N'Sync for 'New Strings Attached' back in 2000 (which sold 2.4 million).

    Pope Francis releases an album. 'Wake Up!' features his speeches set to music.

    Foo Fighters release a new surprise EP, 'Saint Cecilia'. You can download it for FREE from their website here (and they encourage you to donate to the victims of the Paris attacks).

    Ween announced they'll reunite next year for a few shows. They had previously broke up in 2012 in an interview with Rolling Stone.

    Passion Pit's frontman Michael Angelakos came out as gay in an interview with Bret Easton Ellis. He was previously married to Kristy Mucci for two years.

    The sweater Kurt Cobain wore on MTV Unplugged sold at auction for $137,500 (double it's estimated value of $60K).

    Chester Bennington announcesd he's leaving as the new vocalist of Stone Temple Pilots to focus back on Linkin Park.

    Puff Daddy released a surprise mixtape 'MMM' to coincide with his 45th birthday.

    Police raided Lil Wayne's home in Miami Beach and seized some of the rapper’s property as part of an ongoing civil case. The Signature Group, a private jet company, claims he owes them $2 million.

    A new play about the Beastie Boys's lives is set to run in London from 11/13 to 12/12. It's appropriately called License to Ill

    The Weeknd pleads no contest to punching a police officer back in January at the Cromwell Hotel in Las Vegas. He will not serve time, but will pay a fee and attend anger management class.

    Judge dismisses case against Jay-Z before it went to jury, over alleged copyright infringement on Big Pimpin. It samples Egyptian composer Baligh Hamdi's 1957 song "Khosara Khosara".

    Bruno Mars is developing a TV show for NBC. It will be a "single-camera music family comedy project".

    The nominees for the 2016 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame were announced. They include Nine Inch Nails, The Smiths, Janet Jackson, Chicago, The Cars, Steve Miller, and NWA.

    Boston Mayor Marty Walsh declared October 10th Patti Smith Day.

    The nominations for the 2015 American Music Awards were announced. Taylor Swift leads the nominations with 6, followed by Ed Sheeran and The Weeknd with 5 each.

    Yoko Ono organized a giant human peace sign made of 2,000 peopl in Central Park to honor John Lennon on his birthday. It fell short of the Guiness record.

    Nicki Minaj has announced a comedy series coming to ABC Family. No title yet, but it will be about her immigration from Trinidad in the early '90s and being raised in Queens.

    Fetty Wap was hospitalized after motorcycle crash in his hometown of Paterson, New Jersey. He broke his leg in three places, but is now recovering.

    Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit was ranked the "Most Iconic Song". This according to researchers from Goldsmiths, University of London. after running songs from 'all-time best' lists through analytical software to compare their key, BPM, chord variety, lyrical content, timbral variety, and sonic variance. John Lennon's Imagine, U2's One, Michael Jackson's Billie Jean and Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody, rounded out the top five.

    Afroman avoids jail time for punching a stage-crashing woman in the face back in February. He'll instead have to attend anger management classes and, ironically, submit to drug tests.

    Metallica will sell limited edition Budweiser cans in Québec to celebrate the opening of a new Centre Vidéotron and Metallica's two shows in Quebec City.

The couple has two children together: son Noah, born in 2001, and daughter Agnes, born in 2004. Patti Smith records an original song for Aqua Teen Hunger Force's final episode, called Aqua Teen Dream

    Meghan Trainor was forced to cancel her tour following a hemorrhaged vocal cord injury. It also happened to Sam Smith earlier this year.

    Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert announce divorce, ending their 4-year marriage.

    Bruce Springsteen closed out Jon Stewart’s last Daily Show, with Land of Hope and Dreams and Born to Run.

    Lenny Kravitz exposed himself after splitting his leather pants during a show in Sweden. His representatives have reportedly threatened legal action over the distribution of the photos.

    50 Cent has filed for bankruptcy. He was once worth over $150 million. This comes shortly after a jury told him to pay $5 million to a woman whose sex tape he posted online without permission.

    Bobbi Kristina Brown, the daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, passed away at the age of 22, after 6 months in an induced coma, for still unexplained reasons.

    DMX has been sentenced to six months in prison, for not paying a child support bill amounting to $400,000. This follows an arrest in New York City last month and a stint on OWN’s Iyanla: Fix My Life, where Simmons connects with his oldest son, Xavier, after not speaking for a year and a half.

    The Grateful Dead closed the curtain on their career with a farewell concert at Chicago’s Soldier Field. It took a tragic turn when one fan fell from a railing nearly 25 feet to the ground. The fan was then transported to a nearby hospital, and police said that his condition had stabilized.

    Yes' Chris Squire, bassist and co-founder, passed away at the age of 67, a little over a month after revealing that he was suffering from a rare form of leukemia.

    Bobby Shmurda, creator of the Shmoney Dance, was rearrested while in prison for having a shank. He was arrested in December for drug and weapons charges and is already being held in Rikers Island. Diddy was arrested for allegedly attacking one of his son’s football coaches at UCLA and swinging a kettlebell at an intern. His son had been kicked out of an off-season workout on UCLA’s field for supposedly not giving a great effort and so Diddy went to confront the coach. He was later charged with three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, one count of making terrorist threats, and one count of battery.

    Queen announced that they’re brewing an official beer called "Queen Bohemian Lager", being released to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their classic 1975 song Bohemian Rhapsody. (Last year the band released an official vodka to celebrate the anniversary of Killer Queen.)

    Dave Grohl broke his leg after falling offstage in Sweden during a Foo Fighters show. He managed to finish off the set, but afterwards had to cancel their remaining European tour dates so that he can recover. For the 4th:

    Lil Wayne told fans at an Anaheim concert that the "Free Weezy" album is on its way and set for a July 4 release date.

    Enrique Iglesias sliced his hand during a performance in Tijuana, Mexico when reaching for a drone operated camera. Reports now say he may not regain full sensitivity in his injured fingers.

    Justin Bieber was found guilty of assault and reckless driving for an incident back in 2014 with Selena Gomez . They were riding an ATV in Ontario when they hit a minivan and Justin proceeded to get into a fight with a member of the paparazzi.

    Janet Jackson announced officially she will be releasing a new album in the fall (Her first since 2008's 'Disclipline').

    Foo Fighters close out David Letterman's last show with Everlong. They are Letterman’s self-proclaimed "favorite band" and they first played the song 15 years ago after he was recovering from open-heart surgery.

    Legendary blues guitarist B.B. King passed away at the age of 89
    (In Memoriam: September 28, 1938 - May 14, 2015) Flavor Flav was arrested in Las Vegas for a DUI and alleged drug possession.



    American Idol announces their upcoming 15th season (scheduled to premiere in 2016) will be it's last.

    Creed's Scott Stapp admits to suffering from bipolar disorder. This after a series of odd behavior, including video confessions where he claimed to be broke and homeless, a threat to the President, and a 911 call from his wife, Jaclyn, requesting that he undergo a 60-day psychiatric hold. Vampire Weekend's Chris Baio announces a new solo record, "The Names", due out in September



    Ben E. King, the man responsible for the classic song Stand by Me, passed away at the age of 76

    Common has joined the cast for DC's upcoming "Suicide Squad" movie, which also will star Jared Leto as the Joker, Will Smith as Deadshot, and Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn (set for an August 2016 release date).

    Metallica's Kirk Hammett lost an iPhone containing 250 guitar riffs meant for their new album. He said: "I can only remember, like, eight...So I just chalked it down to maybe it just wasn’t meant to be and I’ll just move forward with it."

    A new documentary about Amy Winehouse has been announced. It will premiere in British theaters on July 3 and is directed by Asif Kapaida (BAFTA award-winning director of 2010’s Senna documentary). Nelly was arrested on felony drug charges, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol. Allegedly found meth, marijuana and guns. He claims not his.

    Lil B claimed that two staffers at the Red Lion hotel in Oakland, California, went into his room and stole ten grand. Robert Burns Jr., founding member and drummer of Lynyrd Skynyrd has passed away at the age of 64, following a car crash in Georgia. (In Memoriam: November 24, 1950 - April 3, 2015) Radiohead's OK Computer will be archived in the National Library of Congress. Others given the honor this year include Lauryn Hill's The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, The Righteous Brothers' You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin, and The Doors self-titled 1967 debut.

    Coachella 2015 wraps up. Highlights include Madonna sucker kissing Drake, Kanye West's surprise visit on The Weeknd's set, Florence of Florence + the Machine broke her foot during an overly energetic performance, and Jack White announced after his career spanning Coachella set that he "will be taking a break from performing live for a long period of time".

    A judge in Buenos Aires has issued a court order stating Justin Bieber will be arrested if he ever tries to enter Argentina again. (Coming from a 2013 incident outside of a club where a photographer claimed to be assaulted after Justin ordered his bodyguards to attack him.) Zayn Malik leaves One Direction, but group will continue as a four-piece.

    Tool's long legal problems appear to have finally come to a close, and they are now working on a new album due out sometime this year (their first since the 2006 album 10,000 Days ). Tyga got served with legal papers at the launch event for his Liquid Gold L.A. Gear sneaker collaboration. The server waited in line with fans for two hours. When it was his turn, he got two pairs of sneaks signed, took a picture with Tyga, and then served him with court papers.



    A jury determined that Pharrell and Robin Thicke copied Marvin Gaye's 1977 hit Got To Give It Up when they wrote Blurred Lines. Marvin Gaye's family was awarded $7.3 million in damages - almost half of the $16 million in profits.

    Lady Gaga confirmed that she will star in the upcoming season of American Horror Story: Hotel, set to debut this coming fall.

    Taylor Swift (now New York City Tourism Ambassador) donated $50,000 to New York City Public Schools, making good on her promise to donate the proceeds from Welcome To New York.

    Slipknot's guitarist Mick Thomson was sent to hospital following a knife fight with brother. Both reportedly sustained serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

    Six people were reportedly stabbed at a Migos show in Albany, New York. It happened at the Washington Avenue Armory on March 6th, with another woman reportedly robbed.

    Anthrax's Scott Ian cameoed as a zombie on this seasons' Walking Dead (Season 5, epsiode 12 - "Remember")

    Starting this summer, new music will be released worldwide on Friday instead of Tuesday, according to the IFPI (International Federation of the Phonographic Industry).



    Glory from Selma wins the Oscar at the 87th Academy Awards for "Best Original Song". The other nominees were:

    Bjork will have her own retrospective exhibit at the MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) in New York, running from March 8th to June 7th, 2015.

    Taking Back Sunday's lead singer Adam Lazzara was arrested near Charlotte, North Carolina, for driving while impaired and is due back in court April 15.

    Sam Smith wins big at the 57th Grammy Awards, taking home "Best New Artist", "Record of the Year" and "Song of the Year" for Stay With Me. Beck wins for "Best Rock Album" and "Album of the Year" for Morning Phase. Beyonce won "Best R&B Song" for Drunk In Love. Kendrick Lamar won "Best Rap Song" for I. "Best Rock Song" went to Paramore's Ain't It Fun. And "Best Country Song" went to Glen Campbell for I'm Not Gonna Miss You.



    Lil Wayne is reportedly suing Cash Money for $51 million over the long-delayed Tha Carter V album.

    Lil B was saved from a fire in his apartment building in Concord, California by 15-year-old Mateo Ysmael who ran from door to door, knocking on doors and waking neighbors.

    John Legend and Common win the 2015 Golden Globe for "Best Original Song in a Motion Picture" for Glory from the movie Selma.
