Clocking in at seven in the evening working till the early morn
On a shift work schedule the hours feel so long
The days blur together but I push through the grind
But now it's Friday night and I'm leaving it all behind
It's Friday in my eventful nightshift work week
Gonna kick back and relax let my worries take a backseat
I've been working hard now it's time to unwind
Thank the Lord above I'm getting a few days off this time
I work at an open pit mine where the roar of engines fill the air
Operating heavy equipment with precision and care
Moving mountains of earth under the bright sunlight
But on Friday night I'll be out under the starlight

I've been working hard now it's time to unwind
Thank the Lord above I'm getting a few days off this time
I'll sleep in take it slow no alarms to wake me up
I'll enjoy the simple things like coffee in my favorite cup
I'll recharge my batteries make the most of my time
I'll come back on Monday ready to tackle the climb
