They fought for glory, lived the myths
With iron grips and brotherhood piths
The raven banner high was raised
As skaldic voices sung and praised
Through wind and sleet, their voyage leads
Across the world, their daring deeds
A warrior of the sea
With axe and shield he roamed
And conquered shores unknown
And tales of him have grown
We'll raise a horn for heroes
For those who sailed away
In longboats fiercely carved (carved boats)
Neath the Northern sky they sailed
Through waves that smashed like walls
In Odin's name they brawled
With every storm they've weathered
Their sagas live today
So hear the skalds sing loud and clear
Of battles fierce and foes in fear
Upon the winds our praises ride
To toast the ones, the Northmen's pride
For every stone and every wave
Our seafaring souls are mighty brave
Their spirits soar on mountain's breath
In fjords where echoes dwell
The Norns weave fate, the runes are cast
Under the watch of Asgard's spell
We'll drink to kings and kinsmen lost
To honor those who paid the cost
