The longer I spend
Enticed by the screen
The marketing tricks
I see what it really means
Like pose for your thousand follower
Make them jealous
Of your body
Your money
Make them jealous

There's nothing more to it
No real benefit for you
Only problems for others
I'm sure that might bring you pleasure
But that's not what we're made for

I once felt a spark of hope in a place
I felt loved
I felt welcomed
It's too bad that the inclusiveness faded
But it's fine because while they stopped including me I lost any interest to be included
When I was included, the warmth felt pleasant, but it wasn't real see
But I remember times thinking what's wrong with me
Am I not worthy
To hang out with them
But those years have trained me to look
Outside for inspiration, to look past this broken world and be free
My God is my remedy
My meditation on things above
Reveals a love
Given by the blood
Of the one
Who died for me
Cried for me
There when I need Him most
Doesn't hide from me
Won't lie to me
Rides with me
Always right beside me

So look past this broken world and be free
Seek commitment from God
He calls to thee
Whether you think that I'm goofy
Or stupid or Religious
Unintelligent superstitious
It doesn't change the fact
That you are broken
Im saying you need hope
Not religion
I call my hope Jesus
And he calls me child
He holds my hand
In the midst of trial
He guides my steps on pastures green
And will guide me into eternity
He shows me a love that I should show my family
When I'm depressed
Oppressed
I can forget
The worth inside of me
But He reminds me
That He designed me
That at the end of the day
Money and power will fade away
Fame and titles it's all the same
But love will remain
