I woke up this morning, my boots still on
Just to greet the morning, sing a simple song
Life is good, how it's a treatin' me
And my hands still hurt from the night before
From a beer and whiskey, thought I needed more
Calm my nerves, I think that you'd agree
That I'm just living my life, so it don't live me, yeah
And as the day went on, I mowed the yard
I wrote my mom a thank you card
Least I could do for what she's done for me
With a hound dog barking, a radio on
I live a simple life, singing simple songs
Simple's good, that's alright with me
When I'm just living life, so it don't live me, yeah
I'm not sure exactly where to turn
But as life goes on, I'm bound to learn right from wrong
Even if it kills me
Even though life's simple, it's sometimes hard
When I hit the road, I hit it hard
With all I've got, and I wish that you could see
That I'm just living my life, so it don't live me
So it don't live me
Said I woke up this morning, my boots still on the faded
Pair of jeans and my old long john just simple
But I'm so happy, and I'm just living my life
So it don't live me
And I'm just living my life
Even though I might not be livin' right
I'm just living my life
So it don't live me
So it don't live me
So it don't live me
