The Hu (stylized as The HU, also known as The HU Band) is a Mongolian heavy metal band formed in 2016.
With traditional Mongolian instrumentation, including the Morin khuur, and Mongolian throat singing, the band calls their style of music "hunnu rock", hu being a Mongolian root word for "human".
The band is aiming to release its first album in 2019, an album they said they have worked on for seven years. Two videos on YouTube released in the fall of 2018 had garnered over seven million views by January 2019.
The album's title is Gereg, which is the term used for a diplomatic passport from the time of Genghis Khan.
