Marry Me was released as the second single in the US and Canadian markets (third overall) from Jason Derulo's
third studio album Tattoos (2013). The song was written by Jason Desrouleaux, Jonas Jeberg, “Hookman” Marlin Bonds,
Andy Marvel while the songs production was handled by Jonas Jeberg.
Speaking of the song, Derulo said: "Marry Me is one of those very pulling heart strings kind of record,
it's very different than 'The Other Side' ... Basically it's talking about getting ready for that moment
when I ask you to marry me."
"One of my favorite Lyrics is the ’105 is the number that comes to my head when I think of all the years
I want to be with you. It’s one of those things you want to wake up next to that person forever so 105
is the number that I thought of"
At the 2013 MTV VMAs, DeRulo told E! News the melodic ballad was written about his partner, Jordin Sparks.
He revealed: "It is about Jordin, actually, and it's talking about how amazing it will be when I get down
on one knee and it will be the greatest moment of my life."
DeRulo added: "You can't fake anything because true love is true love, and that's the basis of our relationship."
