The twists of crimson in her hair
Drew my eyes from across the crowd
Her smile soaked up the stage lights
While the music stoked loud
She stayed the night and made the mistake of
Leaving behind her cinnamon toothpaste
She took mine instead
And hers had quite a burning taste
Deep in the middle of the night
I felt that I needed to see her again
So I called her to come get her toothpaste
And her only question then was "When?"
But then she spoke these cryptic words:
"Don't forget to waste the paste in the wake of mistakes
The taste of saved face has traces of the venom of a snake"
The next time I saw her I was all in to fall for her
All because she left her toothpaste behind
There was something inside that had salted my bloodstream
And now I can't get her out of my mind
She told me to keep it she didn't care
Because she'd only come back for me
And in the pincers of passion her kisses grew vicious
Till skin on my neck came to bleed
But then she disappeared with a wipe of her lip
And a clear insincere apology
Leaving me all alone for another night
Contemplating our compatible astrology
And her words rang through my head:
"Don't forget to waste the paste in the wake of mistakes
The taste of saved face has traces of the venom of a snake"
The very next day I went looking for her
At the concert hall where we met
I asked around briefly and soon tracked her down
Nearly as desperate as you can get
To my relief she was happy to see me
She invited me to meet her friends
In an old record store without any power
Full of candles and burning incense
"Don't forget to waste your time
Life is far too long and too steep to climb
Don't bother looking for primes
Life is encrypted with shatterproof paradigms"
We listened to turntables rippling back time
And she told me I was hers to keep
When she asked me to spend my eternity with her
That's when I knew I was in too deep
But I gave my consent for the "Scarlet Ceremony"
By then her blood had soaked in through my gums
She sank her teeth in I joined her and the damned
As black hooded figures all circled and hummed
"Don't forget to waste your time
Life is far too long and too steep to climb
Don't bother looking for primes
Life is encrypted with shatterproof paradigms"
