Mirrors on the bedroom wall
Which one knew me best of all?
The boy with prayers upon his tongue
The man those prayers would leave unsung
Cracks of doubt spread thin and wide
Like whispers where my truth would hide
God above if You are there
Then why this storm I cannot bear?
Was love a sin my heart a blight?
Then tear me down and end this fight
'Til only dust and starlight rise
To fill the spaces in my eyes
A love I wore a secret shame
The things I felt and dared to name
Haunted my self so deep
The Promises I couldn't keep
The handshake slowly slipped away
In different hands I choose to stay
God above if You are there
Then why this storm I cannot bear?
Was love a sin my heart a blight?
Then tear me down and end this fight
'Til only dust and starlight rise
To fill the spaces in my eyes
Love isn't bound by ancient creed
But beats within the only seed
They say that God forbids this love
That judgement rains down from above
But here I stand the truth made clear
For This love can banish fear
If Adam fell that men might be
Then I too fall to bring joy to me
For if not Gods This is my plan
That i will learn to love a man
