Arcane-Gel - Apron Strings Lyrics
Official

January took away his mother
What a still emptiness to discover
She'd huddled his demons to the backyard
Now they sit atop shoulders and scratch scars
Old wounds gash to a flash flood
An illness mothered by a sad love
He'd latched on underneath a matron wing
In the gallows strangulated by her apron strings
His father confused by his loss
A merciful fate derailed his train of thoughts
The last of him blew into wind
Epitaphs muddled under truant grins
Losing him while he still breathed in air
Was more than a son could even bare
Stuck in a stare alone in his sentences
Died as a guest in the home that we left him in
It's so hard to live without you
I don't know how to
Be happy here
I hope paradise has found you
And love surrounds you
I'll meet you there
A son stripped bare but for his OCD
Checking gas stoves taps bulbs and leaks
Depression transformed to the storm of a century
You can't port safely in memory
Protection ceased he was scared to breathe
Unrest on a headstone of memories
A cemetery coexisting with a living room
That irony lost on his tinted view
The sun set chased him to a slumber
Where he was reunited with a mums hug
A care misplaced allowed him shrink
Over the think cowering to brink
They were under qualified to deal with his ills
So he regulated feels with mixtures of pills
Now he rattles through the day swaddling a cross
Defined by his malady modelling his loss
It's so hard to live without you
I don't know how to
Be happy here
I hope paradise has found you
And love surrounds you
I'll meet you there
