Formed: in Richmond, Virginia (1992)

Band members:
Terry Clark: Electric guitar & acoustic guitar, vocals
Carter Gravatt: Acoustic & electric mandolins, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, 12 string guitar, lap steel, bouzouki, loops & effects, vocals
Jordan Medas: Electric bass, bowed & double bass, vocals
Scott Milstead: Drums & percussion, vocals
Barry Privett: Vocals, penny whistle & acoustic guitar

Got Their Start: Randolph-Macon College in Virginia in 1992 playing backyard parties, mixers, fraternity, and sorority parties.

Name Game: Barry and Terry went on a rafting trip in college and came up with the name Carbon Leaf, then they placed it on flyers promoting their gigs before the rest of the band could vote on it and the name stuck.

Opened For:
Dave Matthews Band, O.A.R., and David Gray, and toured with Jason Mraz, Blues Traveler, Great Big Sea, Jump, Little Children, and Big Head Todd and the Monsters.

Debut Album: Meander (Constant Ivy) 1995


Did You Know:
Carbon Leaf were the first unsigned artists ever to perform on the American Music Awards.
Carbon Leaf wrote then recorded with Regan Richmond, Virginia's theme song, "Easy to Love".

In May 2002, the band members gave up their day jobs in order to dedicate more time to the band and touring.

In September, 2003, Carbon Leaf won the Pontiac Vibe Summer Sound off resulting in "The Boxer" being played in Pontiac Vibe commercials on MTV and VH1.

In Spring 2004, Carbon Leaf signed with Vanguard Records
