What's the weather been like lately?
I can't go outside anymore
This city's been on lockdown for a couple fo weeks
This city's been crawling with a new disease
I think that I'm falling for quarantine
And I miss my sweater
Soaking in the smoke
Outside of the venue
Out there in the smoke
I miss the winter
Weekdays in Brooklyn
Weekends in Harlem
Long nights in park slope
Dad goes on about
Sitting on the couch when he was nine in 1964
When Sonny Liston fought Ali
He got knocked down and got back up and got knocked down again
And he said, "our country will do the same."
Bootstraps and all that jazz
I said, "Dad, Sonny Liston lost that fight!"
Oh God!
We bought package goods, hand soap and some Tylenol
The man on the news said, "follow the protocol."
We can't be worth much if the system's contain us
And keep breaking down, so we hope something changes
Lately it feels like some mind over matter
They don't seem to mind that we don't seem to matter
And I miss my sweater
Soaking in the smoke
Outside of the venue
Out there in the smoke
I miss the winter
Weekdays in Brooklyn
Weekends in Harlem
Long nights in park slope
