I rent a family's basement on Black Forest Lane
And there at midnight I go fly to another place
I have a way of going into life like it's a book
And now in my mind I reside the hundred-acre wood
Everyone in my brain knows exactly who I am
Because I made them at the age of three and to this day they stand
Eternally a boy and finding happiness in fantasy
But as time goes by find wretched reality is after me
My father read me all the stories
And I found myself upon the pages
Life's tragedy has always bored me
So I built my own world to play in
Placed in a world that wants me to grow up
I enter my tree and lock the door shut
I frolick through the shrubs with all of my friends
And I can't hear the screams of life in my head
Christopher Robin
Time to wake up!
You need to close the book
And duct tape it shut
Christopher Robin
Time to go sleep!
Wake up early boy
And don't you dare dream
Christopher Robin
Time to grow up!
The loners in life
Love themselves too much
Christopher Robin
What can't you see?
Life is too short
To think about peace
I've always wanted a book that writes into society
But even if I had it I know I'd screw it up
So I keep one here right inside of my entity
Because I'll never fathom a life without fluff
I hold onto my boar
And he keeps me here in place
Because he knows as much as I do that without insanity id be insane
And they tell me Chris, get out of your bubble
Keep your feet on the ground if you don't want trouble
Cuz like the songs warned when I was a kid
You've gotta build yourself brick by boring brick
So one day if they force me to leave
I've gotta beg my fiction pundits
That you'll never forget about me
Even when I'm a hundred
Christopher Robin
One day you'll see
Part of living life
Is leaving that tree
(Christopher Robin time to grow up)
