Cassius Thompson - Twenty-Five Deep Lyrics

Its just a simple introduction
To a new chapter

Another story told, behold
Another year older, broke the mold
And showed that twenty-four
Just a number
Add it on up to twenty-five
The joke is on you, I'm still f*cking alive
Had to drive by with the beat tape up in my mind
And combined with the graduation, I press rewind
To remind myself, that I define myself
I got plenty room to grow, but I ain't by myself
I got love for Ella, I got love for Howard
I got love for Troy, I got love for now and
I got love forever, I got love for Jay
And so I pray that my little cuz staying awake
I got love for Juan, I got love for Lex
I got love for Quan, I got love for Reg
I got love for everyone I couldn't put on this track
I got love for all my people, feels good to be back
I remember twenty years, the fears of chapter six
Prayed to see twenty-one because of politics
In this country, being raised up in the country
Feeling like a dream, I schemed up for the money
Funny, how we made due and we thrived
Stack your money til' it gets sky high
One day, I know I gotta testify
Said I wouldn't even live to see oh two five
But on five three one, I crossed the threshold
Never focused on the gold if it means that I sold out
And I lost my soul, forgetting those who show
That they standing by my side, through the rain or the snow
So I'm ten toes down, never hogging the crown
If it ain't fit every head where my love is found
And man I love this now, its been far too long
Pray I touch every soul by the end of this some, come on

Man
You better sing that shit
(Ahh)
Finally back
I know its been too long but
Hopefully it won't be as long the next time
In the meanwhile enjoy
Cassius

And so when flooded by the life, I wrote this slowly
So eleven songs later, you get to know me
This year, twenty-eighteen was in my dreams
Build a team by the truss, sowed it up at the seams
And so it seems, meditation truly the key
Every key on this beat, keep me here for a week
Its not bleak in the flood, never tongue in the cheek
Truly meaning every word that I speak on this beat
After eighteen years
Eighteen years
That's how long it took for me to bring the sound to your ears
And then I faded, speechless in the moment of time
Last line was for the diehards who know I can rhyme
Sunrise, it never came to be my first mixtape
See my heart just wasn't in it, would've been a mistake
So I create Flooded, now I'm feeling awake
Still riding with the flow, when I chill in the lake
I feel the weight, resting on my shoulders at night
Still trying to figure out if the path is right
Despite the smaller odds cause my skin ain't white
I crossed the water now so I'll win that fight
See my blood run deep and the climb is steep
Ain't no crabs in the buckets cause we all gotta eat
Never moved by the flood, never feeling defeat
See the roots too deep, rose in concrete, I proceed...

Took forever for me to proceed though right
At least that's the way it feel
I'm just blessed to be able to bring this
This album to you
Thank you...
(Uhh)
