Chris Morris - Me and My Sins Lyrics

Me and my baby, were lying in bed
"I'm gonna leave you," this is what she said
She got out of bed and walked to the door
And I never spoke to her, again no more

I slept in late, I could barely speak
I got out of bed, I could barely see
I went to my closet, pulled my old gun down
I got in my car, and I went to town

My eyes seemed blind, my head felt dumb
I had my pistol, my hand felt numb
My baby had left me, left me feelin' cold
What happened next is about to be told

I drove by her house, but she wasn't home
I drove by her work, and I called her phone
She knew I was mad, but she couldn't tell
That she was gonna die, when the trigger fell

I searched all day, I searched all night
I drove around for miles, across the county line
I gave up, and I went back home
When I got there, I wasn't alone

She was waiting for me, said she felt bad
She wanted me back if I wasn't too mad
I pulled out my gun, pointed at her face
She started to cry, and plead her case

She said she was wrong, but I didn't care
She said she loved me, but how could she dare
She left me alone, with barely a word
She had dug her grave six feet in the dirt

I pulled the trigger, fired four shots
When I was done, my gun was hot
My heart was cold, my face was stern
Then I heard the cops, I knew my next turn

I walked out the door, and I watched them come
I stood my ground, and I pointed my gun
I shot at them, and they shot me
They blew off my shoulder and my left knee

After 14 months, I saw the judge
He was just as drunk, as my daddy was
He sent me to jail, to live out my days
He said 'you've made a bed, in which you may lay'

So here I am, in a cold dark cell
Just outside of town, and it suits me well
There ain't no women, there ain't no guns
Just me and my sins, and the moon and the sun
