By the waterfront at Gasworks Park
Ours are the only voices
As we stare across the water
We feel fortunate and proud
To behold such a beautiful, panoramic view of Seattle
Here
This relative silence is such a relief
From the cacophony of the street
From the corrosive commotion
Of Capitol Hill
At last, we can enjoy each other's presence
As we inhale the salty air
Near midnight, we return to where we parked
My CR-V just through the trees
We laugh and reminisce about high school
As we drive back to your dorm building
Our arms wave carelessly
Out the windows
Blown lightly
By the wind
