No more will winters winds blow cold
The time for summer's sun will soon be here
The ice that stilled the waters flow
Will melt and show us spring is near
The snow that filled the fields
Reminds us that the worst has been
And to the warmth will yield
Revealing a fresh sea of green
Wild birds have taken to the air
Swallows dance in pairs over streams
Their chorus in the silver trees still bare
Nature's song awakening them from winter dreams
And young they soon will raise
In nests on top of trees so high
The sound of music plays
Caught on the breeze as round they fly
So soon the sleeping woodland trees
With branches bare and colours lost to winters cold
Will come to life with blossom and new leaves
Soft hues of verdant green and precious gold
Bright flowers will fill the air
With perfume 'neath a sky so blue
The trees no longer bare
As spring returns and life renews
