Rusted bike half covered in snow
Beside a river but there is no

He reaches up to cover his nose
Into the entrance slowly he goes
He doesn't even bother to close
The open door
First he looks around the tomb
Then up the stairs and through the gloom
He can see from a darkened bedroom

In the distance a siren shrieking
Same as when the rays were leaking
He was seen by cameras sneaking
Time to evade
Outside now he must avoid the street
Heart is pounding like a drumbeat
He slips between buildings of concrete
Mostly decayed

In a sector that is unexplored
Finds his way through a debris horde
Now his legs are tangled in cord
He cannot flee
And now reaching for his pocket knife
The sweat upon his face is rife
And part way through A Day in the Life
He has got free

Back in the woods along the trail
Military still on his tail
But soon the bush becomes a veil
And he's alone
Now his mind is on a cup of tea
Or perhaps a tiny glass of whisky
To reward another day in the
Exclusion Zone
