I used to be one within the world of this town
But now I keep getting turned around
These street names sound familiar
Yet feel so foreign and confusing
Which directions that they're going
Did they reorder from what they used to be
Second nature like this forest was my roots too
Concrete trees, wind morphing as I groove
The atmosphere unique, every city has its vibe
And general structure it just feels nice
Blending in with it, well at least I'm trying
It's refreshing just strolling disregarding the time
The present is fresh, that's why they call them moments
Because if life has stinky breath, it's old food, you need more mints
If one with the water stream forgets that it's flowing
Just drifting, the water drop don't know about the ocean
Though why can I vividly recall
The walks to class for the first time in a while
Half a mile wasn't bad, until it turned 5 degrees
And I'd freeze
But had a fun doing the work alright
Hope I have the same spark it'll keep burning bright
Never ending lanes vast as internet
Each constructed structure is a website address with its depth
Information and the users, so much with the intellect
If it is finite, then I guess there's bottom to this river bed
Got stoned in an alleyway, then strolled the block
Of the spots and places I used to roam around often
All felt comfortable at the local spots
But complicated feelings I didn't know if I was lost
Woah, was just talking about how I used to get the Dominos
By my old apartment, but revisiting 4 years later saw it closed
It got to me, but kept it going to that Jewel Osco
That I got groceries was popping
But I didn't enter in, I had nothing to get
Wanted to hit up that park I used to kick it and smoke some spliffs
But the dogs and the owners took own of it
Figurative like pigeons owning roads they kick it in
I popped into a bakery I seldom went
Got cupcakes, red velvet of scarlet shades
Contemplated, told the lady throw in that s'mores bar
She said alright kay
Then some other ladies walked in
And I went back to my hotel and spent the night
Big day ahead the next one, now as I write
Some days later I can't even describe
All the things I did in those walked 12 miles
Sat by a beautiful scene with lots of persons
Had a drone in my bag but was awfully nervous
To go airborne, because I don't got a permit
And unsure if I could do that
Until later a different day I did, and it was worth it
I could feel lost one moment and then the next
Turn and recognize a building know I've been
Or a street I've walked, but all its so complex
Because these strangers may have long ago had met
These street names sound familiar
Yet feel so foreign and confusing
Which directions that they're going
Did they reorder from what they used to be
Second nature like this forest was my roots too
Concrete trees, wind morphing as I groove
