Ellerose the Unicorn - To Be Or Not To Be Lyrics

So everyone's heard of that famous Shakespeare quote
But no one knows what it's actually about
The irony is that I didn't know because I was too depressed at uni
So I'm dedicating this to my acting teacher now. Better late than never
To be or not to be, that is the question
It's a question that I ask myself each day
To be or not to be is my discretion
As to whether or not I go or stay
Whether tis nobler in the mind to suffer through time as arrows are fired
My outrageous fortune's messed up so I'm tired of putting my coat on to go
But do I take arms against a sea of troubles? No
I can't oppose to end or to die
Will it be a dream? Should I close my eyes and bow now, prematurely ending the play
Surely that'll put an end to the heartache of a
Thousand natural shocks that flesh is heir to
More than my poor heart can take, so why can't I bear to just wipe the slate
How do we know that there's not an ill fate waiting for us when we wake
God only knows what we might face on the other side of the gate
To be or not to be, that is the question
It's a question that I ask myself each day
To feed or not to feed my strange obsession
Do I dare to take it all away
But I am devoutly wishing to die, to sleep, per chance to dream
So why can't I
Wheres the catch
Ah, there's the rub
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come
A poisonous tempest of trouble and toil when we have shuffled off this mortal coil
Oh Lord, you're a fool, because we mortals can't see
We know what we are, but not what we may be
Between good and evil, well how do we know if that's just our thinking that's making it so
Will nothing come from nothing if I choose to give it up
Or maybe this lady doth protest too much
Me thinks that my guess is as good as yours
That should be enough to give us some pause
But if brevity is the soul of wit, then I've seen better days
I just i just need some light through that goddamn window to break
To be or not to be, that is the question
It's a question that I fight with every day
Yet being influenced by intervention
It seems to be the only way to play
The intellect that you collect won't rid you from your flaws
If anything, it's just gonna create a couple more
The things we expect don't always reflect aspects we neglect
So we're left with respect in mortal suspicion of this timeless tradition of us
All falling victim to the human condition is rife
To have or not to have this life, to end or not to end this strife
To grab or not to grab the knife, do I ride out this calamity or say
So long life
To be or not to be, that is the question
It's a question that I ask myself each day
To be or not to be, is that my confession
Because obviously I'd rather not feel this way
To be or not to be, that is my question
It's a question I've been asking now for years
To go or not to go when you don't know the right direction
Careful not to be distracted by your fears
To be or not to live, that is my question
If you've never been asked, then lucky you
To be or not to be is my discretion
To end or not to end this strife
That makes calamity of this
So long life
