Eric Blake - Poem on a Bench Lyrics
Official

She lives in a house
And there is only one way from that house to the fields
And at the end of that way there is a bench
And he is sitting on that bench the whole day
He is waiting for her to walk by
'Cause he secretly hopes she goes out for a walk
No, of course he is not sitting on that bench because of her
If she was in Paris still then he would sit here too
And so he's looking at the sky and searches for the moon
If she was still here then she would search it too
But instead of him she would find it
And tell him that she loved him to the moon (And back)
But no, she won't come
And all the people that were walking on the fields, they went in
Got quiet here
Suspicously quiet
And now it's just him and the wind
And now he's feeling all his sins
Everything he did wrong comes down to his mind and wants to win
But no, this time he won't let it win
'Cause he still got himself
And he is free
The is hope left inside him
And he just let's it be
And so he gets up from that bench to find his way
Gets up from that bench to find his way
