I walked into the saloon, and it had just got noon
I walked up to the bar tender and said "give me a glass of your finest whiskey"
He poured it and slid it across the bar and as he did so he gave me a funny look
And he said "who are you? I ain't never seen you round these parts before"
I just smiled and said "ha, well you'll hear about me soon enough

I look to my left, and there's a strange lookin' guy sittin' there
He's got blue overalls on that are all dirty and tattered and he's got a similar lookin' face
He looked me in the eye and said "hi my name's Davey and i've been gold panning for years
I wake up in the mornin', go down to gulch, and just pan for some gold
It's not much to live off, but I live by it. Anyway, who are you?"
I looked him in the eye and said "well you mustn't have heard me talking to the bartender here
'Cos i said i'm a new arrival in town, you mighta' heard..."

I looked to my right, I saw the cutest girl sittin' there
Beautiful blonde curls, a pink dress and a matching bonnet
I walked over and said "hi, may I get you a drink?"
She turned to me and I saw those crystal, blue eyes
Piercing right through me, and those pearly white teeth as she opened her mouth
And i was ready to be hit by that angelic voice
And she said "hi my name's Karl it's a pleasure to be acquainted to you!
I'll have whatever you're having
By the way, who are you?"
Well... I wasn't quite sure what to do with myself after that
At the end of the day I just shrugged it off, yeah...
