Now I told You once that come-what-may - I would never let You go
Though all around may stumble that I'd never stoop so low
But when the test came I gave in to all-consuming fears
And now in retrospect and guilt I'm weeping bitter tears
It's good to know that when I fail You love me just the same
You won't allow the enemy to revel in my shame
You pick me up and set my feet upon the solid ground
And angels celebrate when every wand'ring sheep is found
She was just a harmless servant girl - but its what she had to say
She'd seen the two of us together earlier that day
I panicked at the consequence of being seen with You
And all the possibilities of what the crowd might do
Now it's been a while since Pentecost - and we're learning to receive
The mighty power You promised us before You had to leave
(Now) The Good News of the Kingdom's being spread to every place
And I believe the Day I Failed is covered by Your grace
