Grunleggender - Utforskende, Overhærende Lyrics

God king of primates
We have sunk to these heights
From the ruins of Rome
Deja vu through the eyes of Father Time

Patterns appear to generate
Or recognise familiar ideas
Alternatives possibilities
Applied as ad hoc solutions

Communication with others
Purely and entertainment
Explorative indulgent
Ideation born from naught

Beneath a smiling mask
Of humanity and optimism
Is a pitch black Neanderthal
Pleading screaming
In a primitive tongue to cease

We paint these plains of emptiness
Without thought of ownership

To suit our needs to stain our thoughts
With all but selfless deeds

A gallery of mongrels with hands sifting
Through carrion

Mindlessly gorging poisoned abundance
The very essence of expedience

Tending to hundreds of gardens
Should they prosper and propagate
Could it be a lament if they knew
They exist for our own amusement?

As long as we are useful
We need not ask permission
For as little as we are worth
Still refused to be preserved

Fickle tastes of concubines
Will change as soon as tides
When options are exhausted
Codes and morals are quickly
Set aside

So the once golden adulated
Is discarded without ceremony
Peers look on in indifference
Not considering that they might be
Next and their children thereafter

Eyes turn to marble grey
And emaciated fingers extend
Spelling out the truth that is a
Penultimate vain attempt

Clawing through the floor of
A long since cold kiln at the
Mere chance of reprieve
Too late to realise you've been deceived
