Homage the Lion Killer - Perception Lyrics
Official

I wake up in a giant mansion that is fit for a king
My residence is in The Hamptons and I'm living the dream
Never think about the poor kids or worldly affairs
Too preoccupied with picking out what jewelry to wear
I don't care about my life and I'm slightly depressed
Take a razor to my wrist get to slicing the flesh
Guess it makes me feel empowered when I bleed and it hurts
Started smoking heroin because the weed doesn't work
Learned if I act like I'm dying then my parents will acknowledge it
But all they really do is pay the bill for the psychologist
Talk about my problems and she nods and takes notes
Knowing what I'm saying is an obvious scapegoat
I blame those around me for the drama that I cause
Call people out but never recognize my flaws
God's out to get me, why won't anyone believe it?
Unhappy with life cuz of the way that I perceive it
Life is what you make it and you may hate it but it's something sacred
I'm thanking all the lives in mine cuz you helped to shape it
I may get angry but it's cool it's only temporary
It's only love after you lay me in the cemetery
To bare with madness you must master your thought
You can only notice sadness if disaster is sought
It's not the money or the fame that will determine your worth
It's how you treated who you love and what you learned on this earth
I wake up in a little mud hut and smile and pray
We get our water from a well twenty miles away
Found a soccer ball and gave it to my child to play
It's kind of flat but I know that he ain't the type to complain
Wish it rained more cuz last year's harvest was weak
I just wanna give my village a big marvelous feast
Gonna work the land all day regardless of heat
Because that's the only way that this farmer can eat
Keep on wondering if we should all be packing our stuff
Any moment men can show up here and massacre us
All we have is our machetes and our farming implements
Obviously there is not a lot of harm we can inflict
I get a little worried bout the future of my family
If you are a human I know you can understand me
Can't be another one to fall into depression
And let the negative thoughts be clogging my perception
Life is what you make it and you may hate it but it's something sacred
I'm thanking all the lives in mine cuz you helped to shape it
I may get angry but it's cool it's only temporary
It's only love after you lay me in the cemetery
To bare with madness you must master your thought
You can only notice sadness if disaster is sought
It's not the money or the fame that will determine your worth
It's how you treated who you love and what you learned on this earth
You see it's all perception, whether aggression or divine ascension
Any progression will depend how you define the question
I'm not a peasant ain't a god or king that I am less than
I thought of things and now I'm slaughtering in my profession
I'd like to mention how I rock the mic is like perfection
Before you test him take your rhymes and then apply corrections
I'm guessing people think I'm less because of my complexion
Until I show the dopest flows I have in my possession
So hear the writer's message and get the right impression
I'm so impressive get erections just from my reflection
My rhyme obsession is the reason for my life's direction
I hear the beat and then I speak til I provide a lesson
I'm using pages to pursue the fate which I am destined
I grew with sages who can mutilate your mind in seconds
Combining statements with the knowledge stored in my collections
Life's what you make it, I'm Homage this is my perception
