Chain smoking nightmares
Front porch, sat in the cold
They are all unawares (that)
I'm never growing old
So much on my mind
Each day more piles by
Answers I can't find
All telling me to die
God, is this your love for us?
Down here on this ball called Earth?
Bones all down in the drainage
Skin all in the dirt
What? Is this our fate? To rust?
Hollowed be thy longest reign
Yet, we go from dust to dust
Shrowded, no face behind your name
The love material
We see it all go up
Nothing ethereal
About that worldly junk
And yet through all of this
They say you're still designing
You cannot justify this pain
With a silver lining
For it is all we know
Earth's joy is temporary
And it always feels as though
These prayers... are just as momentary
God, is this your love for us?
Down here on this ball called Earth?
Bones all down in the drainage
Skin all in the dirt
What? Is this our fate? To rust?
Hollowed be thy longest reign
Yet, we go from dust to dust
Shrowded, no face behind your name
