Joco - Trees' End Lyrics
Official

It was told among the vines
A plan to leave
A cool breeze alone
Doesn't upend the roots below
The things we saw, all of the bark
No sap, all spark
Match to flame
The flame to torch it all apart
Reap what's sown soundly
It's often trails walked
That push the trees to part
From each other's reach
Losing a bit of rind
Then a bit more over time
Thriving limbs out
Still to be eaten up on the inside
Echoed out systems
For each other's love
Turned to competition
When there's limited sun
One need this
The other needs that to fix the situation
One gets its needs
The other decays past recognition.
Hollow, empty, a fossil of its former self
Chipped and splintered
A piece for the other's shelf
If a tree falls and no one is around
Does it make a sound?
It does
Only if it was heard on the way down
It feels strange being tossed to the wind
Will I catch another gust or descend to the end
I shouldn't admit this, but I've been
Peering at the photos
Realizing that the smiles
Are synthesized within
Autumn crown, moves as silk
Floral scent
As if carried in a whisper of wind
And I felt
Like rot, like l'm lost
Peeping orbs, evergreen
Unable to forget why
I was trying to stay inside the copse
Deciduous
Rooted in the sequence of
Shedding what's not needed
Who gives a damn about the grievance
Love language for a weekend
Regret the moment a certain tree moved back in
And couldn't just say "leave" again
Right tree, wrong time
Wrong field, no sign
Some rain, some shine
She grows, I die
A grip too tight to weather through the seasons
Ensnared because I'm sorry for the trees' end
I'm really sorry for the trees' end
11/25 the night this tree felt most alive
July 14 passed by, left me screaming why
10/11 came and went, and with it
I realized that I knew how I wanted my span spent but
There's always going to be another forest to roam
There's always going to be other branches to call home because
May 17th came and went, and with it
Nearly two more rings in these trees came to be laid to rest
And everything in between
Felt like home to me
