JYanto - Graduation Lyrics

Good morning, graduating class of this year
Raise your hats up, open up your ears and hear
We roamed these halls, when we entered, was so small
Now look at us, at least some of us, grown tall

We graduated from heartbreak, who you wanted to take
Understanding what's at stake, and uh, taking breaks
Saying goodbyes, and remembering our first hi's
The best you can really do in the end is to try

Listen to my letter, with a bolded header
That says how I ain't better than you
I'm just a kid who's tired, I'm just a kid who tried
I'm just a kid who had something to say, hoping for a better day, ay

Can anybody hear what my heart is beating
'Cause I know I'm not the only one feeling these feelings
They say, they say, that I'll keep on dreaming
So I nominate myself as valedictorian

Everybody, let's raise our hats to the sky (raise your hats up)
'Cause it's graduating time
I may worry
What tomorrow will bring
'Cause it's graduating time

Man, I'm gonna be late for school again...

Five years gone, four more years to go
Maybe four after that four, man, I don't know
I hear that's what they say will get a six figure job
I doubt I be able to even get that far

My thesis is strictly speaking, that a career is
Not promised after all of all those years, so (are you serious?)
I guess I'll be stuck trying to get that lease
Dawg, I guess I'll be stuck on a straggled leash

Point I'm tryna get across, what if this is obsolete
Example, I know this kid, worked hard for his degree
Top of the class, but no other job really wanted him
Piss pool of participants left by the recycling bin

Peer pressures keeping you from your real treasure
And don't forget them loud lectures and them tight schedules
A second please teach', let me breathe
Seriously? You're telling me we got another test next week?

And sorry for misbehaving, and runnin-on 'bout stuff complaining
And apologies to all those in schools administrating
Prestige, like geez, what does that really mean?
A piece of paper to raise up that self-esteem

Immature, oh sure, I'll graduate from that I'm sure
That I'll eventually understand this, yes sir
Engineers and doctors making top dollar
And don't forget the kids tryna put on a blue collar

Why can't I have the same hunger tryna get all of these job offers
Man, I'm my biggest scoffer
They say I'm getting softer?
Well, I'll just give all that I got to offer

Still I wonder, 'cause honestly, I myself can't choose what I wanna do
When the future looks dark, pressure's got to you
So Imma stay bright in the midst of the dark night
And this light shine

Everybody
Let's raise our hats to the sky (raise your hats up)
'Cause it's graduating time
I may worry
What tomorrow will bring
'Cause it's graduating time
