From the banks of the big muddy
Until dreams at twilight will fail
Escaping rhythms that would beat back in time
Upon these crystal ships we set sail
Regaining truth in a dream set aside
Lost in a world that's always revolving
Into the mist
Holding sight of the tide
Can't you see that we're all still evolving
In the end an arrowhead is no match for gunpowder
Hammering might into reason with a tooth and a nail
And landing sight to flight in ships ashore
These morning skies sometimes feeling too pale
Withholding selves today looking the other way
Crystal clarity is suddenly dissolving
In favor of fortune's eyes
Seen without a glow
Don't you know that we're all sill evolving
On a midnight train hauling damaged goods
A wizard's apprentice once told this tale
And falling monks and wishless punks
Keep straying off the trail
And wasting feelings and thoughts are cheap
And so is time and talk
Why can't you see we're still evolving
But the black sheep are also part of the flock
