He rolls out of bed this morning, 5.30 on the dot, the same as every morning, he gets Dressed in the dark
Makes his way down to the kitchen, grabs the lunch he made the night before
He's got a long drive to the city, to start the job that he settled for
He looks straight out the window, he's traded green for grey, daydreaming 'bout Friday Nights, while he types his life away. Maybe
Today he'll leave work early, push his notice through the boss's door, stop living for the Weekend, and chase the life that he's been waiting for
Stuck in the middle of where I am and where I want to be
I can't solve these riddles and I think they're getting the better of me
(But) Time keeps dragging on as I stray from the road
(Feels like) I'm falling behind, is someone keeping score?
She lives life from her rucksack, never knows what she's gonna find
She's got a lot of stories to tell the people that she's left behind
She remembers what they used to tell her, "get a steady job and settle down"
Maybe they were right about her, every now and then she has her doubts
Stuck in the middle of where I am and where I want to be
I can't solve these riddles and I think they're getting the better of me
(And) Time keeps dragging on as I stray from the road
(Feels like) I'm falling behind, is someone keeping score?
We lay it all on the line without so much as a sign of what it's all for
You're truth is my lie but that's not a crime either of us should die for
Yes I'm waking up, are you waking up (etc)
We're on a constant journey, and there's no slowing down
You can spend time asking questions, but you won't find all the answers out. So
Keep smiling keep on dreaming, don't let yourself get bored
You can write your own story, chase the life that you've been waiting for
