• According to Mike Shinoda (Billboard Magazine) '...we created a song that we felt fit the spirit of the movie and the characters and also obviously stayed true to the spirit of the band.'
• The music video was filmed at Paramount Studios and is set in an Egyptian cave. The video was directed by bandmate Joesph Hahn. Contrary to popular belief the woman in the video was not actress 'Megan Fox' but an actress hired to look like 'Megan Fox'
• The group worked with award winning composer Hans Zimmer to turn 'New Divide' into a musical score for the film.
