Goldie gets out of bed and combs her hair
She isn't easily scared, she always takes the utmost care
Goldie looks in the mirror, starts her day
A cottage just a mile away, a place where she used to play
She starts with another coffee, tea and gin
She says why go out when you can always stay in
She sits at the table thinking of her life
She wonders why she isn't someone's wife, yes what does she have in life?
(She gets to her senses)
Goldie sits in the parlour thinking of her hope
She knows that she'll never grow old, she knows she'll hav much more
So she locks the door...
So she locks the door...
Sit down at the table, have a meal with me
Would you like a slice of ham, would you like a cup of tea
Sit down at the table, have a sip of wine
Help me push away the bad thoughts help me see the light
Goldie wake up!
She never gave up!
Your time has come!
Goldie well done!
