Rolling a dose on the cold backroads
Hitchin a ride on the old backbone
If sense is impeached, don't worry
I know where to go
This dusty trail leads straight to the unknown
And I'm so damn tired
Of waking up hazy
Thinking of maybe
And there's no way I'll survive
Unless somebody saves me
It's driving me crazy
Falling asleep on the way back home
The gentle sway of the old backbone
Follow the stars and you can't go too far wrong
And if all else fails we'll wait until morning comes
Is it too much to ask for a little navigation?
Can't be the only one in the same situation
We approach all our fears with the same trepidation
And greet their response with the same exasperation
And its only devastating me
Can you see the cold water rising?
Can you feel your soul synthesising?
As the sun dipped below the horizon
I sensed there was no harm in trying
To take the backbone to the sky and
Roll a dose for the ride and meet you there
