Deep in sorrow, Jesus said
"One of you will betray Me."
Shocked and confused
John asked Him who it will be
"The one for whom I dip the bread is the one."
Jesus then dipped the bread and gave to
Judas, son of Simon Iscariot
"What you do, do so now immediately."
At that moment, Satan entered him
Why?
You had it all
Money bag in hand, getting up from the feast
Judas then went out to Caiaphas the high priest
The price that they agreed upon was thirty
Pieces of silver, standard slave's price
On what will you spend with it, betrayer?
What's worth more than having eternal life?
Little fool, you little fool
Here's your dirty money
He saw that Jesus was condemned
He knew that he had betrayed
Innocent blood that will be spilled
To pay for sins upon the hill
Christ could have paid for all that you
Did that very sorrowful day
The priests then said it was not their problem
"You see, it is up to you."
So Judas, filled to the brim with his guilt
Took upon himself the task
To fashion gallows instead of forgiveness that he could have asked
He loved you
Chosen as one of the twelve
He knew you just as well
I know that some folks might say
He wasn't in the book of life anyway
But the lesson we can learn in here is this
Suicide is far from God's righteousness
We've all betrayed God in some way
Those who are His are the ones that have faith
Rope around his neck
Tied to a tree
The moment he jumped
When the fibers were taught
He sold himself for hell
He traded Christ for naught
For naught
