I don't give out full sized candy bars on Halloween because I can't afford it
Still people visit my house that night because of what happened here in the forties
Trick or treaters come by in droves because it's believed my house is haunted
Young kids chicken out at the property line, but teenagers are undaunted
I'm a guy who lives in a home where there was a tragedy
It prevents a whole lot of people from dropping by randomly
And though I like my space, I like to do it up for Halloween
That's the one night I'm ok with people being around me
Psychics come here every year who hope they can make a connection
They say the veil is the thinnest, that it's easier for spirit detection
I tell em the only ghosts they'll see are people who are costumed in sheets
And the only screams they'll hear are kids who are yelling for treats
I'm a guy who lives in a home where there was a tragedy
It prevents a whole lot of people from dropping by randomly
And though I like my space, I like to do it up for Halloween
That's the one night I'm ok with people being around me
True crime podcasts have given my house lots of exposure
When people learn what happened here, they lose their composure
So I've gotten used to being alone 364 days a year
But there's one day that there's always a crowd here
It's Halloween in case I haven't made that clear
I'm a guy who lives in a home where there was a tragedy
It prevents a whole lot of people from dropping by randomly
And though I like my space, I like to do it up for Halloween
That's the one night I'm ok with people being around me
Happy Halloween
