These daunting birds
Perched up above
All these headstones
And monuments
And I am just the observer of
These cemetery hawks
Lurking over us
Do they mingle with those
Stuck in between
Perhaps to guide them to
Where they need to be
But I am just the observer of
These cemetery hawks
So mysterious
Many come here
To take photographs
Of these ever present birds
Hovering overhead
I am the observer of
These cemetery hawks
Inspecting us
Guardians of the graves
Gliding gracefully
Circling above
Then back toward the trees
These daunting birds
Perched up above
All these headstones
And monuments
And I am just the observer of
These cemetery hawks
Lurking over us
Lurking over us
Lurking over us
