Mike L. Watts - Oxtails for the Soul Lyrics

Mike L. Watts - Oxtails for the Soul Lyrics

Truth's out. Never needed none of y'all
Now Im surpassing every one of y'all
You're seeing me on platforms you never would of thought
Cause I saw that y'all were fake and had to cut my loss
It was jealousy and convenience all along
And I ain't gonna lie homie that broke my heart
70 hours a week I worked too hard
For you to try to fight me in the street when my life was off
Now I'm rediscovering my art
Finding that my skills are way better than I thought
Thought about writing ex's letters from my loft but...
I can't look back after I launch
Even though I feel for her like a wall in the dark
Better things fall together old things fall apart
Ashamed of the stain we left a mark
But we utilize the pain on the journeys we embark
A parallel lane when we walk
I could see your mouth move but I couldn't hear you talk
Tried to read you lips for a question or remark but
You're Sagittarius Im a Libra without a heart so
Arrow aim on, I hope you hit what you want
I was never your type I would cry but I won't
I been alone
Confined to my mind staring at the sky
Adjusting the rhymes for my poems
I was never beyond reproach
Apologies for threatening your life when we finally broke
I corrected my mistakes even the ones no one would know
Anything that caused me any hurt I let it go
Jamaican oxtails for the soul
I let my demons come out and put on a show
Sandman sandbag catapult
Cloven hooves prance half-man half-goat
Siege on the castle scuba dive in the moat
Lancelot slid down Guinevere's throat
After King Arthur split the bread with him that he broke
Close friends you thought you knew you really don't...
So the moral of my story is
I'ma trust money way more than I trust a friend
Cause money got my back if I'm in a bend
And credit is the big homie that'll lend
As long as I don't make less than I spend
Buy my first house down in Houston
Go to Galveston to the gulf and swim
And talk to the dolphins...
