See her in the desert wind
Her eyes full of starlight
Through to sunrise
So gently she rocks
Saying 'baby oh my pretty baby
I won't let nothing hurt you'
'We're heading over the rainbow
To where milk and honey flows
More than the river back home'
But walls rise
Like layers of makeup on a black eye
Excuse me while I
Touch up the paintwork on my prison bars
Paint them blue like the sky
So nobody tries to break out
See him drive through the blaze
Windshield wipers in the red cinder rain
Crying for his home was left to the flames
See her ride to the rig
See her cloth tied to sticks
See her flying down the highway
To a brighter morning
Birds in the spring
In a cage
We fight and rage
And we rage
