Poems & Short Stories - Part of Me Lyrics

Poems & Short Stories - Part of Me Lyrics

It's back again, but I know it will fade
It's just a habit, it's grown to repeat
Come and go
I miss the days when this all made sense
I had nothing to lose and everything to gain

Part of me feels the same in a sense
There's more I could achieve
But that part of me knows
I'd have to let go
I've tried so hard to be content
By decorating my life and habitat
And now it's just an awful show
No one wants to watch
No one wants to watch

I question if faith is a feeling
Or is it something I can keep
It's puzzling how years ago I never would have asked
I've made mistakes, and some came
With such a harsh recovery
I clearly had so much to lose, and just as much to gain

Part of me feels the same in a sense
There's more I could achieve
But that part of me knows
I'd have to let go
I've tried so hard to be content
By decorating my life and habitat
And now it's just an awful show
No one wants to watch
No one wants to watch

I know I sound like I'm whining
This sounds like another sad song
But someone please tell me where am I going wrong
I know I'm lost, I'm sure there's something I'm missing somewhere
But what do you try, when there's so much out there, so much out there
If it's wisdom that I need, God if you can hear me please
Break through these barriers I've made, and teach me who to be
Somewhere along the way, I traded everything good, for everything bad
Now the roots are so deep, they've been choking me
We're having a tough time letting go of each other
But there's not another way
To move on, to grow up, and to live
To move on, to grow up, and to live
To move on, to grow up, and to live
