Rain, starts to color in my window
As we lay I watch
You came to me with your grey coat and your polka dot socks
The droplet drumbeat starts to carry you away
To sleep
Now I
I wish there was a door
So I could explore your dreams
The beautiful kind that people write about in their magazines
I'll go inside and see what excites you
The things that've been denied to you, and give you all that I have
Now I know that
The world may be bad
That's when you take a lesson from the rain
You wash out of anger's arms until you flow right back in to mine again
In time
I want to show mine, all of the dreams that I own
Split between the ones above and the ones down below
The top is filled with beautiful places, the ones that I want us to go
Down below
Lurks the villain of our Broadway play
The one that causes our clear thoughts to go astray
That leads to us fighting, denying and finally crying like all young couples do
Now I know that
The world may be bad
That's when you take a lesson from the rain
You wash out of anger's arms until you flow right back in to mine again
