The Ravenous - Flow State, Pt. 1 Lyrics
Official

Standing at this rooftop bar in Brooklyn
Staring out at the bay and
Watching the way the divine lights and signs
Of the city brighten up the night sky
And shimmer on the waters surface
I hear a bell ringing but I check the time
And turn around this ain't no last call
There's no dropping out of college now
Now that's a past thought
And I'm so far from mastering the craft of this art form
But I'm starting to understand the power of it
Like maybe I can't press pause, rewind or fast forward
But maybe I could create a path for you
Maybe I could make you
Feel the mild breeze of a Melbourne winter
As you stand and wait at that tram stop
Right on Chapel for that
Same beautiful girl to take out for dinner
Pull up a chair at a date that I've never been on
Maybe every time that I was feeling bitter
I could consider creating a villainous figure
That would mirror every bit of my inner cynic
And deliver some pivotal scribbles
To make myself feel just a little bigger
If I could tell those stories and create those ideas
Then why couldn't I create a fearless version of myself
That wasn't phased by time
That could shade both in and outside the lines
Blow the dust off that page
Feel the rush on the stage, breathe and just say
I am simply not defined by the number of times
This great ball orbits around a greater ball that shines
Forget the pool now I'm zorbing in life
Absorbing it right, now I can sleep
On the warmest of nights this ain't no
Passing trend just ask a friend to ask a friend
If they can hear the heart entrenched
Yeah I'm still walking in slow, but nowadays
I just cut like a knife through the fork in the road
Who really knows if I'll circumnavigate the globe
All I can tell you is I'm certain that I'm taking notes
See I was sinking in that quicksand knee deep
But now I've switched trams
Headed to my final form, try to defeat me
Solo was right cos this frees me, no ice it's easy
Tell the doc that I'm back on track
This be about 7 times more cathartic
Than those counselling sessions
Cos now I'm bound to the present
A soft rapper but I'm fine with it
Not the moshing type I admit it
I'm staying true to what I exhibit
As I exhale the shade look up and see the sky is vivid
Content in this moment even though I know
What I write now will not be timeless
I just, focus on the right now
When I'm left with my own devices
All on which I can type down
And time ticks on, but some reason
I don't mind when I write this song
I know very well that this sole soliloquy
Has been about as dark as a Nolan trilogy
But now I've reached the epitome
Think I've finally found a way to make amends
This is the counterweight to K10
Cos right now I'm euphoric
And that ephemeral stream is flowing more than it ever has
Who knows, maybe on Part 2 I'll better that
