Something isn't right as I awaken in the dark
Something dripping to the rhythm of the pounding of my heart
Vision blurry as my dilating pupils try to compensate and gather
All they can to form an image in the mind
Struggling to stand against the enervation holding me and guided by the walls
I follow halls until I reach the mirror
Coming into focus I can see the picture of myself
Lifeless eyes up above a menacing and wide grin
Don't let them see you, don't let them hear
They will betray you and draw you near
They share your features, your other half
They live in mirrors, behind the glass
Held in the gaze of this wicked doppelganger
One who is not mimicking the movements of my own
Pale eyes stare into the depths of the corners of the crevasses
And hidden pieces deep inside my soul
Reaching through the plane that divides us
I can feel the frigid touch of fingertips that fall against my skin
Penetrating through the dermal matter, entering the mind
Hypnotizing and communicating something deep within
Don't let them see you, don't let them hear
They will betray you and draw you near
They share your features, your other half
They live in mirrors, behind the glass
Oh, I've come to become the unbecoming of a world you accept to be true
Oh, look into the blank eyes, submit and admit my energy transmitted into you
There is no escape, no retreat, no point to resisting, no point to fight this
I need what you've got, an exit into a vessel to where day and night live
Fingers lacing into every molecule of being recreating all the imagery, subconscious and unknown
Pieces of a puzzle interlocking now and spiraling together, fabricating something sinister to show
Mirror on the wall is but a portal to a land where something bitter and intelligent is copying and watching
And awaiting for the moment in between awake and sleeping
When defenses can be lowered and a crossing can occur
