Spencer O Klein - Among the Nightingales Lyrics

Spencer O Klein - Among the Nightingales Lyrics
Official

The circles of the stormy moon slide westward toward the plane
Death and the raven drift above and Apollo guards the horned gate
The silent man in mocha brown sprawls at the window-sill
The waiter brings in oranges, bananas, figs and colored pills
He and the lady in the cape are suspect on the lam
Therefore the man with the heavy eyes follows with sword in hand
Leaves the room and reappears outside leaning in
Branches of wisteria circumscribe a golden grin
The host with someone indistinct converses at the door
The nightingales are singing near the convent of the sacred shore
And sang within the bloody wound when Agamemnon cried aloud
And let their liquid siftings fall to stain the stiff dishonored shroud
