We rode through the desert looking for our friends
They were lost in the sand somewhere out where the real world ends
And none of us were ready for what we might attain
At nightfall we camped by some rocks, our day was spent in vain
The desert sky showed many stars and the snakes came out to play
And we drifted off to sleep there and waited for the new day
The next morning after coffee we packed it up again
Headed deeper into the sand, forgot where we had been
We used up too much water, rationed out our food
And found a bone white skeleton, we were close now we knew
Suddenly, just over a hill, we found what we came for
Miles and miles of cacti upon the desert floor
We dried it on some flat rocks and kicked back in the shade
And took a nap to pass the time and wait for the parade
We woke up in the evening and brewed ourselves a drink
And watched the colours come alive as the sun began to sink
The desert sky showed many things, thunderbirds came out to play
And we launched ourselves into the night and most of the next day
