In recent history
The word "deconstruction" (Has) been thrown around a lot
And I think within a lot of church spaces
There has been like a fear attached to the word
For a lot of people
Largely young people
When they say that they are deconstructing
Often times that means that they are leaving the faith community
That they're rejecting the love of God and walking away from it
However that's not always the case
I myself went through a deconstruction period
What I discovered was that
I actually made a god out of my own comfort
And out of my own preferences
For that reason I think Holy Spirit led me
Through a deconstruction process
It's part of the sanctification process in my mind
The God I had built was not the god
Who was
Is
And is to come
And as I began to question you know
Who is this god that I worship
And who is the God that I read about in the Bible
It didn't actually lead to a crumbling down of my faith but a rebuilding
It actually lead to worship
I really want to encourage people
Don't be afraid to ask questions
And don't be afraid to even enter into a "deconstruction"
Perhaps God is allowing you to see
That the God that you serve
Is different than what you are comfortable with
And He is much too beautiful to be monotonized into a way that comfortable for you
But instead to embrace the beautiful complexity that is Him
As manifested in people of various colors, cultures and creeds
