Ancient halls, bone-carved
Behind old world's falls
The scriptures reside
At the edge of it all
Though human in form
Within lies a god, by design
Through ages lost
Swallowed by the tide of time
A beacon of light
Monument of hope
Each day a new fight
At the end of the rope
How much more can I take
Can't be long 'till I break
Raised in thorns
I've bled my whole life
Even forget-me-nots
Lose all meaning
When those you love die
A blessing to them
Always been my doom
Some rise, some fall
Though I live through it all
I'm alone
In this cocoon
So many have come before me
Just as many have failed so miserably
These ruins, my prison
These petals, my chains
Try as they might to free me
They all die in vain
So how much more
Can I take
Raised in thorns
I've bled my whole life
Even forget-me-nots
Lose all meaning
When those you love die
A blessing to them
Always been my doom
Some rise, some fall
Though I live through it all
I'm alone
In this cocoon
Even forget-me-nots
Lose all meaning
When those you love die
A blessing to them
Always been my doom
Some rise, some fall
Though I live through it all
I'm alone
In this cocoon
Oh but I'll make it crumble
I'll tear it apart
With centuries worth
Of hatred and worse
That have been bubbling deep
Brewing inside my heart
There's not much more I can take
Won't be long 'till I break
Aaahhh
Raised in thorns
I've bled my whole life
Even forget-me-nots
Lose all meaning
When those you love die
A blessing to them
Always been my doom
Some rise, some fall
Though I live through it all
I'm alone
In this cocoon
