Yung Delirious - David Sullivan Lyrics

There's a guy named David who's been livin' on the street
Askin' for some change just so he can finally eat
Wishin' he could be treated like another human being
Askin' for a dollar, but no one wants to speak
He's not askin' for much, he only wants a meal
Suddenly these days everyone's afraid to feel
So they pretend he isn't there to enjoy their sunny day
As they go about their lives just walkin' away
But he's spiraled to depression, no one shows affection
As he's walkin' down this road he's lost all direction
He sees the other blessin's, wonders if he's an exception
Nobody wants to know him like a leper or infection
So he wonders all around, finally finds a food truck
It's 2am outside a club, he prays that someone's mood's up
He asks another soul, can you spare some change
Just a couple dollars and he'll be out on his way

Once upon a time there was a soldier named Sullivan
Joined the forces, but "lavish dreams", he was full uh them
Schooled for engineering but he wanted cash
Young entrepreneur so he pursued his path
Got out of college, must've been so hyped up
Loved the party scene so he purchased his own nightclub
Planned on makin' money, he'd have all this nice stuff
But for now he's still a customer inside the nightclub
He wasn't ever perfect, although he would try to be
But he got kicked out; rejected by society
Becoming so recluse, no one's seen this side of him
When asked what happened
His response is where do I begin
Outside he ran into a kid with intent as he
Trynna chase dreams ever so extensively
Could he be an angel maybe Heaven sent to me
I don't believe in signs but I think it's meant to be

Right now there's a kid in downtown with a dream
Prayin' for a chance to change up all the seams
He don't ever take a break, well hardly
But if he ever does it's to go out late and party
He just finished, as he was walkin' to the car
He ran into a man who had a beard coverin' his scars
The kid's friend didn't wanna talk, he wasn't interested
But this kid knew that his heart needed some listenin'
Inside this man's mind this kid saw himself
Two barely different people who were stuck in their cells
They had the same mindset since they were twelve
Really they're just stuck trynna search for themselves
When he would try to talk nobody would look twice
Kid saw he was depressed, maybe he could save his life
Some more people passed, then it happened all again
Then the man introduced himself
Hi, I'm David Sullivan
