Artist Julius Dubose known professionally as A Boogie wit da Hoodie, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. His stage name is derived from the character "Ace Boogie" from the 2002 film Paid in Full, and because he frequently wore hoodies, friends gave him the nickname "A Boogie wit da Hoodie".
He signed with Atlantic Records in 2016 to release his debut studio album, The Bigger Artist (2017). Led by the Billboard Hot 100-top 20 single "Drowning" (featuring Kodak Black), the album was met with critical praise and peaked at number four on the Billboard 200.
